Owen Sakawa: Kenyan Techpreneur Behind U.S Based Company Revolutionising Real Estate Industry Using AI

Owen Sakawa is the founder and CEO of Elloe AI, a company that provides AI-based solutions to businesses especially those in the real estate industry.

Through his firm, Sakawa is democratizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and related ecosystems through automation.

Here is his story as told by WoK.

Sakawa’s interest in AI dates back to 2013 when he graduated with a degree in mathematics and computer science from Kenya Methodist University (KeMU).

In 2020, he enrolled at the University of Cambridge where he pursued a master of philosophy in machine learning and machine intelligence.

While studying at the United Kingdom-based university, Sakawa developed an AI-powered mobility platform dubbed RepairNet.

With the platform, he was seeking to ease the car repair experience by making it affordable, transparent and centered around the customer.

A while later, he joined hands with Abhijay Rao and Aaron Madolora to establish a conversational commerce startup, Elloe.ai.

The AI-powered platform enables SMEs to buy and sell products on messaging platforms such as Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram.

“Conversational messaging is how people get stuff done with family and friends. Elloe was founded to make it just that easy to communicate with businesses, too,” Sakawa said.

The firm is now looking at tapping into the US real estate industry by doing away with the traditional practices and improving efficiency.
