Friends School Kamusinga

The late Chris Kirubi attended Friends School Kamusinga. In 2011, he was ranked the second richest person in Kenya and 31st richest in Africa by Forbes with a net worth of $300 million (over Sh30 billion). Politician Moses Wetangula is also an alumni of the school.

Mang’u High School

Former president Mwai Kibaki is one of the school’s notable alumni. His net worth  US$50 million. Other notable alumni of the school include: the late John Michuki, the late George Saitoti, CBK governor Patrick Njoroge, Moody Awori, Dr. Evans Kidero.

Maranda High School

The founder of Equity Building Society Peter Kahara Mungai  attended the school.  He was the chairman of Equity Bank for more than 3 decades and Forbes reported he was to receive $500,000 from the bank as a ‘Thank You’ token when he retired.

Kapsabet High School

Kapsabet High School shaped the likes of deputy president William Ruto, and the late Nicholas Biwott . Kenya’s founding president Daniel Arap Moi was also once a student of the school. Javelin silver medalist Julius Yego is also an alumni of the school but he is not a billionaire.

The late Simeon Nyachae-a wealthy businessman and former cabinet secretary-was a student at Kisii High School. He was believed to be worth billions at the time of his death. Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya and Kisii governor James Ongwae also attended the school.
