Devine Collection Owner Mercy Maluli Biography, Age, Children, Career & Car

Mercy Maluli is the owner of Devine Collections, a leading fashion brand in Kenya that primarily deals in men’s clothing, shoes and accessories. They offer men a chance to shop for high end clothes with the help of their dedicated stylists. According to the store’s website, Devine Collections has been in the business of styling men for the past 7 years. 

Age

The entrepreneur is 31 years old.

Family 

Mercy has two sons. On 25th September, she gave her six-year-old son, Brayden, a palatial home as his birthday gift. This sent the internet wild with many marveling at the extravagant gift given to the young one. 

“He has been praying for a house cause mommy promised one. God answered and he is the newest home owner in town! Anything for my boys. To brighter days ahead,” she posted on Instagram.

She added that her boy was her prayer partner and the reason she wakes up and works hard each day. 

Career

The enterprising lady started her business journey while still in school. After completing university, Maluli did not see herself working under someone and earning minimum wages. This is because her business was already doing well and her profit margins were okay. She then decided to open her own clothing store and specialized in men’s wear where the competition was minimal since most stores were focusing on women’s wear. This prompted her to open a men’s wear shop so as to cater for the fashion needs of the boy child whom she felt had been neglected. She also said that she found it easier to style men rather than women who have a wide range of accessories compared to men.

At the beginning, she would source the clothes in neighbouring Uganda. However, as time went by she needed more quality and hence focused on clothes from Italy, Turkey and a bit from China. She began traveling to source for clothes for her business from 2014. 

Apart from styling men, they also offer personal shopping for families. In that a family of mother, father and child or children sometimes requests that they dress them. In this case, they look for outfits for the whole family. In future, she hopes to have branches across the country and ultimately have a store that sells clothes for the whole family.

Kilimani Store 

In December 2020, Mercy opened a store in Kilimani. The launch of the men’s wear was attended by big names like Jalang’o, Amina Chao, Kabi and Milly wa Jesus, Michelle Ntalami, Wahu Kagwi, Jackie Matubia and Alex Mwakideu were among the top celebrities who graced the event. On that occasion, Nameless, Masterpiece, and Makena Njeri were unveiled the new brand ambassadors of the brand. 

Mtumba man is the latest Devine Collections influencer who was offered a five year deal with the men’s clothing line. 

Buying herself a car

The entrepreneur knows how to treat herself and this is best exemplified by the car she bought herself late last year. The Mercedes Benz ML350 goes for roughly kes6.5 million.
