The Pluto Biography: From A Kikuyu Gospel Singer To Sanitizing The Streets

Thee Pluto is a sensational Kenyan YouTuber, a social media influencer, a singer and a fashion designer. Growing up, he harboured dreams of becoming a man of the cloth. He revealed that he made his first million at the age of 20. 

Real Name 

His real name is Robert Ndegwa Kamau. He chose ‘Thee Pluto’ as his stage name as Pluto stands for death and rebirth, meaning he was done with his past life and had ushered a new dawn. 

Age 

He was born on 29th  August 1991. He is originally from Maera, Naivasha town. 

Education 

The fashion designer completed his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education in 2016 at Dithida Senior High in Kiambu. After his O-levels he joined Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology (JKUAT). He had initially been called to do Actuarial Science but managed to successfully switch to Economics. He later deferred and did a number of jobs to try and earn some money. 

Background

Before joining JKUAT, The Pluto took up a job as an untrained teacher. Speaking on his YouTube channel, the content creator said:

”When I finished my KCSE, I immediately started teaching a secondary school. That is Mathematics and History…”

Things took a turn for the worse when he impregnated his baby mama, a fellow student at JKUAT. He had to defer his studies and look for ways to make money. According to the YouTuber, he started buying and selling clothes. He later got a job at a company known as Vskit. He earned ksh5,000 which increased to ksh15,000.

To augment his pay, he started investing investing in Bitcoin, Forex and his cereal business.

Career 

The content creator made his debut in the entertainment scene as a  Kikuyu gospel song singer then popularly known as Ndegwa wa Kamau. His love for singing began when he was 8-years-old. With time, he realized it was not what he wanted to do indefinitely plus vernacular songs can only reach a certain group of people. He wanted to reach more Kenyans. He then pursued other interests but also released the song Dikuria Kiuria in 2021. 

In 2019, he joined Instagram where he boasts hundreds of thousands of followers. He began sharing his love for fashion on his page, beginning with official wear. He gained many followers in the process and came to be identified as a fashion designer. He also diversified his looks from official to casual.

The 22-year-old then began a YouTube Channel together with his now ex-girlfriend, Felicity Shiru. They shared viral content with their fans before going their separate ways.

Thee Pluto then began doing loyalty test videos, which have become very famous on YouTube. YouTubers who do such tests are referred to as sanitizers as they are believed to sanitize relationships. They show whether or not partners are faithful to each other. 

The artist had previously appeared in an episode of Ebru TV”s Perfect March. He is also a commercial model and admitted he failed at being a runway model because of his height. The requirement is 5”6 and he is 5”4. 

Family and Relationship

The youngster was in a relationship with the beautiful Felicity Shiru. The two were loved by fans and were seen as the perfect example of ‘couple goals’. Unfortunately, due differences, they went their separate ways. 

He is a father to a two-year-old daughter whose mother is not in the limelight. He is the third born in a family of five children. Thee Pluto impregnated his baby mama while they were both students prompting him to defer from the institution.
