Upstart and established artists are working overtime to outdo each other; its no longer about generating controversy to remain at the top but giving fans good music and well thought out quality videos. This article is all about the videos that have got East Africans talking this first quarter of 2019. Here are the videos:

Tetema-Rayvanny Ft Diamond Platnumz
The audio created so much buzz as the award-winning Tanzania crooner Diamond Platnumz and the equally talented Rayvanny worked on the concept of the video. The marketing genius of Wasafi paid off as the much awaited video created a new interest in the song when it was released. Tetema has garnered over 15 million views on YouTube. This goes as one of the most expensive video that has been released this year.

Chorea-Marie J
Her latest video Chorea has propelled Marie J to the league of A-list artists in Kenya who never disappoint their fans will quality videos. From her previous works Giogode and lo sto bene, the artist-who holds a PhD in accounting-did fantastic homework on Chorea. The video location is on point, and the shots well thought out. On one of the scenes, Marie is on a yacht gyrating to the sweet melodic lyrics of one of her best songs so far.

Chukua Selfie- Fena, Khaligraph Jones, Jua Cali, Nyashinski, Naiboi
Hardly a month since its release, Chukua Selfie is at 2 million views and counting. This was going to be a hit given the assembly of A list talents on the menu. Everything about this video is expensive; the locations, dancers, clarity and directing of the video must have cost an arm and a leg.

A day after it was released ‘Number One’ trending at number one on Youtube has already garnered 1.9 million views by the time of writing this post. The video has been shot at an exotic location. Drones have been used in the quality video that will trend on YouTube for some time.

Mmmh- Willy Paul Ft Rayvanny
Love him or hate him, Willy Paul knows his trade and will continue to be relevant in the local music scene for a very long time. While being labeled a gospel artist is in contention, Pozze invests heavily in his videos. Mmmh featuring Rayvanny is among the very few videos in Kenya to hit the 4 million view mark on YouTube.
