Former Nairobi Governor Dr Evans Kidero is a man under siege. He takes the record of the most arrested ex-governor for alleged ills he committed while he was at the helm of the loss making Mumias Sugar and as Nairobi Governor. Used to trappings of power, Kidero has now become the usual state guest as the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) tightens the noose around his neck.

His friends are said to have deserted him as he tries to wiggle from alleged corruption in his illustrious career.

Net Worth
Kidero’s disputed reports that he was worth sh9 billion as claimed by EACC. He instead put his worth at Sh563 million.

The former county boss said he made more that Sh65 million in allowances, salary and bonuses from SmithKline Beecham between 1992-2000.

Appointed Managing Director of Nation Media Group from August 2001 until 2003. He earned Shs72 million.

Took the position of Mumias Sugar Company Managing Director where from 2003 to 2012.

He made in excess of Sh300 million salary, allowances, pensions, executive allowances and bonuses. Dr Evans Kidero insists that he made Sh578 million while in employment.
