Comedian Kennedy Odhiambo, alias Crazy Kennar has flown out pf the country to represent Kenya at a digital creators event.

On Thursday, November 3, the comic shared videos from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) shortly before he flew out of the country.

In an update on Instagram, Kennar disclosed that he was flying out to London.

“Off to London. Meta Creators Day,” the comic captioned a video board a Qatar Airlines airplane.

In September, Meta which owns Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp launched the Creators of Tomorrow campaign that seeks to celebrate emerging talents from around the world.

The campaign listed 10 creators from across Africa that are breaking out among their communities and are showcasing the best approach to entertainment.

The creators included radio presenter Kwambox and Kennar.

“With this campaign, we aim to highlight creators who are innovating through tools such as Reels and short-form video content formats, as well as those who are leveraging, exploring new content formats such as AR/VR

“We are excited to work closely with these creators,  and we’re  committed to help them grow their audience, build a business and unlock new possibilities for the future as we build for the metaverse,” Moon Baz, Creator Partnerships Lead, Middle East, Africa and Turkey said.

As earlier reported on WoK, the viner started his education at Sacred Heart Primary school in Baba Dogo before joining Ringa Boys High School in Homa Bay County.

He later pursued the Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Sciences student at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).

Crazy Kennar started acting while he was in Class Three and at Class Seven he scooped the best actor award in Nairobi county during the Kenya National Music and Drama Festivals in 2011.

It was in high school that he picked comedy courtesy of his teacher. He told Buzz writer Thomas Rajula of his moment of epiphany;

“…I picked up comedy while doing narratives in high school. My teacher then, Mr Andal, discovered my talent when he had me come up with a seven minute script after we had no script four days to the competitions…”, said the online comedian.

Together with Stanley Omondi, who was his schoolmate and now part of Tales of Crazy Kennar, they did the narrative together and mastered it.

He said it’s at this point that he realized he had a special gift of creating content. Crazy Kennar, who also calls himself the content cartel, started to do what he does best after joining JKUAT.
