In 2003, Marita Nyakundi Calvin made history after scoring 482 marks out of 500 in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination.
This was the highest marks ever, a record that has not been broken to date.
Marita sat for his KCPE examinations at Busara Forest View Academy which also produced the second best student in that year’s national exams.
Ogendi Moraa Rose scored 481 marks out of the possible 500 marks, another record that has not been broken to date.

Background
Busara Forest View Academy is located in Nyahururu, Nyandarua County, and it has been in existence for over 37 years.
The school consists of three sections; Early Childhood Education, Junior School and Senior School.
It also has a counselling program where learners are given an opportunity to express their issues but also to air their views on matters regarding the school.
The school also introduced an e-learning program in a bid to impart IT computer literacy and proficiency to the students.

At the same time, the school is also committed on nurturing students’ talents by incorporating state of the art facilities and a modern training approach.
The school offers among other musical instruments piano and keyboard, guitar and drums under the tutorship of a qualified music teacher.
They also have clubs such as journalism, scouts and rangers, christian inion, environmental club, homemakers, drama, singing and dancing, karate and art club.
While they envision to provide quality, secure and result oriented education, their mission is to inspire and empower students in readiness to face challenges of the world.
The school is headed by Alice Ingutia who has been the school’s head teacher since April 2018.
She holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Nairobi where she studied from 2015 to 2019.
Calvin Marita
As earlier reported on WoK, Marita joined Nairobi Women’s Hospital in August 2021 where he has been serving as a medical officer.
He pursued a Bachelor of Medicine at UoN and graduated from the top-ranked institution.
Following his graduation, Nyakundi was licensed to work in the country by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
After completion of his primary school education, join Starehe Boys Center and enrolled at the University of Nairobi after completion of his secondary school education.
