Former news anchor Julie Gichuru and old girls from Loreto Convent Msongari High School came in large numbers to celebrate their former headmistress.
Sister Pauline Boase celebrated 70 years of religious life in an emotional ceremony at Loreto Convent Msongari Convent.
According to Gichuru, the event was attended by old girls from as far as 54 years ago.
“So much love and appreciation for my Loreto Convent Msongari high school headmistress Sister Pauline Boase. We called her Power because as calm, steady and silent as she often was— she also had an energy of power and significance, that naturally commanded respect, and at that time put the fear of God in us too,”
Sister Pauline celebrated 70 years of religious life at the beautiful Loreto Convent Msongari Chapel a couple of weeks ago. It was a wonderful service and emotional day,”
“Old girls from as far back as 54 years joined the celebration, an important moment for us to say thank you for the nurturing, care and service she gave us all. I am so glad we had the chance to give her our love and gratitude — to show her what she means to us,”
Gichuru advised people to celebrate those who made a difference in their lives and not wait until it’s too late.
“Don’t wait to tell those who made a positive difference in your life that you are thankful. Please, do say it and show it to them today,” she added.
Gichuru is what you would confidently refer to as an all-rounded journalist in the mould of Larry Madowo.
The TV siren thrived in print when she ran a lifestyle magazine called Quest; did even better when she joined Capital FM where she hosted a radio talk show, and became a darling to many Kenyans when she moved to TV.
She has been the brains behind a sizeable number of successful TV Shows before she called it quits.
