DJ Shiti: Comedian Responds to Claims of Abandoning Homeless Brother

Kenyan comedian Stephen Oduor, popularly known as DJ Shiti has responded to claims that one of his brothers is homeless.

In the recent past, the comedian has been on the receiving end for reportedly not helping his brother who has been on and off the streets.

However, speaking recently, DJ Shiti addressed the claims, coming clean on why he gave yp.on his brother who lives in the streets within Nakuru County.

Without getting into details on how his behaviour spiralled to become unbearable, the comedian attributed it to poor parenting skills.

“I have a brother who stays in Nakuru, the people of that town know him, and he’s the type of person who started being a nuisance a long time ago. You know, in one way or the other parents greatly contribute to children misbehaving,” he said.

DJ Shiti noted that his brother’s situation got worse when he was arrested and charged with assault, spending a few days in police cells.

The comedian had to bail him out.

While DJ Shiti hoped that the incident would save his brother from getting worse, he left home and went to the streets, even accusing the comedian of being in a cult.

“Akaenda kwa streets! Jamani nlikuwa nafikiria chokora ni vitu za watoto, mtu mzima, a whole grown up akaenda akakuwa chokora na glue na gunia! And then when he’d meet with people he’d be like, ‘just look at what he has done to me’,” he recalled.

DJ Shiti also recalled an incident where his brother was lynched for trying to break into someone’s house forcing him to bail his brother out.

He hoped that the incident would be a wake up call but the comedian’s brother didn’t stop, even going further to accuse the comedian of sacrificing him.

At some point, DJ Shiti noted that his brother moved upcountry where their parents lived, and further terrorised them.

“He began telling my parents they never bought land and I said enough was enough so I tried to get him arrested but he fled to Kisumu and as we speak he is in Nakuru,” Shiti revealed,” he shared.
