President William Ruto on Friday, July 5 during an X-spaces session was taken to task on the character of leaders in his government.
One of the listeners in the space asked the president what leaders like nominated Senator Karen Nyamu add to his government.
William Ruto in a quick response said he had spoken to Karen Nyamu and told her to change her ways.
Another listener said he was angered by the behaviour of leaders like Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen and MP Oscar Sudi.
Ruto defended the leaders, saying that accusations about Murkomen being found in Dubai with over 200 million U.S dollars was a fake story.
“I agree that some of our officials are arrogant, some of them display obnoxious opulence which angers the public,”
“Sometimes I call some of those people and I give them a piece of my mind. Even Nyamu, I have had to sit her down and tell her that she needs to change what she is doing,” he said.
The first X Space session started past the slated time of 2 pm at around 2:20 pm.
This is after the President had held a press conference in which he announced a series of austerity measures.
The government is taking the austerity measures to handle the KSh 346 billion budget gap, following the rejection of the Finance Bill 2024.
