Political activist Kasmuel McOure who is also an Alliance High school alumni has recently shared some of the privileges offered at the prestigious institution that shaped his experiences during his academic journey.

McOure who is now a music teacher was speaking on a local podcast where he listed the extraordinary perks that came with being enrolled at the esteemed school, some of which he had not experienced in his entire life.

He stated how the school had an amplified sense of freedom compared to other high schools in Kenya, revealing how during the weekends students were allowed to visit the local Kikuyu town on an exact. They would then engage their indulgent pleasures such as internet access at cyber cafes, watching movies at local cinemas, haircuts and massages as well as meeting up with significant others.

“We were given a 14 kilometer radius, so we were allowed to leave as long as by 5.40p.m we were back at school ,”he narrated.

The musical maestro went on to recount how great the meals at the institution were, from breakfast servings including loaves slathered in margarine accompanied by eggs and sausages to dinner meals alternating between chicken and fish delicacies.

“It was not a cafeteria system ,it was a table system. One table had 16 students, with a table leader and table server,” he added describing the sophisticated method.

McOure continued to detail other amenities such as two fully stocked canteens, which further cemented the prestige of the institution as students had the liberty to skip meals offered by the school and buy their preferred snacks.

According to him, the lack of restrictions plays a big role on a number of how Busherians( the moniker given to alumni derived from the school’s nickname ‘Bush’) turn out as without a clear goal in mind, it was easy to be lead astray.

“We were even allowed to socialize with the girls from Alliance Girls, you write a letter in the morning and it would be back to you in the evening.

Alliance High School was special school, and this is why say to I think a lot of Busherians, If you do not find your purpose early, if you do not find a place you are going to shine, you will really struggle,” he noted.

Kasmuel has however publicly revealed that he was expelled from the renowned institution and joined Maranda High School in 2014 where he completed his high school education.
