The wife of controversial Akorino preacher Bishop Johana has shared his last moments before he died.

Bishop Johana, born Danson Gichuhi, passed away on Thursday, August 8.

Mary Wanjiku, his wife said Johana died at Nakuru Provincial General Hospital after a short illness.

According to Wanjiku, Johana experienced a severe headache, which required emergency medical aid.

After medical tests, he was diagnosed with meningitis. Sadly, his condition got worse leading to his tragic death.

Bishop Johana became notorious for his controversial healing rituals and exorcism that went viral in February 2024.

A viral video showed him performing a deliverance session that sparked widespread debate and concern.

Johana was seen applying anointing oil to a female church member’s stomach and genital areas as she lay on her back.

This act led to accusations of inappropriate conduct.

Kenyans questioned his morality and the church ethics behind such an act.

Lady Bishop Kathy Kiuna has broken her silence on the passing of her late husband, Bishop Allan Kiuna, revealing how difficult it has been to come to terms with his demise.

Since the Bishop’s passing on July 9, 2024, the mother of three had maintained her silence to grieve with close friends and family.

On Sunday, July 14, she addressed congregants at the Jubilee Christian Church, sharing moments leading to the passing of the Bishop.

She shared how emotionally distraught she was at his bedside before he died, revealing their final conversations.

“He kept saying, ‘I wanna go.’ We kept refusing with every fiber because he was my best friend… And I said to God, ‘You have such a sense of humour. I thought you’d rather take me and keep him because he had the vision of where we were going.’ What I can say is I don’t know what to do. It hurts so much. It’s so painful. Everybody knows he was my best friend. I loved Bishop with every breath I could take, with everything in me,” Kathy tearfully recounted.
