The previous record of 124 hours was set in 2022 by Rysbai Isakov from Kyrgyzstan.

Samson read around 100 books in total, covering subjects such as finance, sales, management, leadership, politics, health and mental wellness.

His record attempt aims to promote literacy development and inspire a reading culture in the country.

Samson shared that he did not sleep during the record attempt.

“Even when it’s tough, you have to get going to meet your target.” He said.

After completing the “read-a-thon”, Samson and his supporters paraded through the street in celebration.

Among the celebrants were Samson’s parents, who both expressed joy in their son’s achievement.

Whenever Kenya has been associated with the World Guinness Records, athletics is often what comes to mind.

This time around, the country is set to make an entry into the history books for a rather peculiar feat.

John Waweru, a resident of Mombasa has gained the attention of the Guinness Book of Records after he claimed to have the longest nails in the world.

According to a report, the ‘talons’ measure 1.4 feet and the World Guinness Records wants him to enter a global competition.

Waweru first appeared in the media in 2013 after he attended the Mombasa County Agricultural Show where he showcased his nails.
