Mikaela “Mikey” Madison Rosberg, born on March 25, 1999, is an American actress. She was born and raised in Los Angeles.
She is best known for her role as Max Fox in the FX comedy-drama series Better Things, Sadie Atkins in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Amber Freeman in Matt Bettinelli-Olpin’s and Tyler Gillett’s Scream.
She also stars in Sean Baker’s Palme D’or winning film, Anora, in the title role.
Madison is a former competitive horseback rider. Her ancestry is three-quarters Ashkenazi Jewish (from Poland, Lithuania, Russia, and Germany) and one-quarter British Isles (English and Scots-Irish).
Notably, the title role in Anora (2024) was written specifically for her.
Parents
Mikey was raised in California’s San Fernando Valley by two psychologist parents, Michael and Tracy.
Her father, Michael, specializes in treating schizophrenia, and her mother, Tracy, works with children.
Madison credits her parents’ profession with helping her understand people and their motivations, which has aided her acting.
She is one of five children, with two older sisters and two brothers, one of whom is her twin. Madison’s mother enrolled her in her first acting class as a teen.

She began her professional acting career in 2016 with a four-year run as Max Fox in the comedy-drama Better Things.
In 2019, she played a Manson family member in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.
In 2022, she starred in Scream. Shortly after Scream premiered, Sean Baker asked to meet with her and started writing the script for Anora, on the condition that Madison agreed to take the lead role.
Madison’s other roles include the independent film Liza, Liza, Skies Are Grey (2017), the Bravo show Imposters, and the miniseries Lady In The Lake (2024).
Since Anora premiered at Cannes in May, Madison has been recognized as a leading contender for best actress.
At 25, she may become the youngest winner of the award in over a decade.
She is also the only person to transition from a villain in Scream to an Oscar nominee within three years.
