Three Iconic Hotels Owned By Tim Wanyonyi

Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi Wetangula has splashed his millions into developing high end hospitality facilities in Bungoma town. These iconic hotels are newly built, and have become award winners in the Western and Nyanza Region.

He owns Hunters Paradise Cottages, Hunters Paradise Tuuti and Wanangali Sports Lounge. Recently, Hunters Paradise Cottages emerged position one in the hotel classification by Tourism Regulatory Authority while the sister hotel Hunters Paradise Tuuti emerged runners up. The awards meant the two lavish hotels dwarfed other 120 facilities in Western and Nyanza region.

Hunters Paradise Cottages

As soon as one enters the main entrance, a green lush environment, well-manicured grass lawns and cylindrical cottages define this premiere luxury hotel. Hunters Paradise Cottage is located in a tranquil environment in Kanduyi and exudes luxury and elegance.

It was opened in 2021.

It is made up of a hybrid design that combines both the traditional and modern aspects. Basically, the facility offers a number of services such as accommodation, conference, swimming pool, bar, restaurant and gym. The facility has various rooms including a presidential suite.

According to Raphael Kutwa who serves as the manager of the facility, the name Hunters Paradise is derived from a traditional hunter who ensured that his kin has a safe place for relaxation.

“The story behind the name Hunters goes back to one of the prominent hunters who was looking for a place where the entire community could relax, dine, enjoy and live in harmony,” he told Chams Media.

Hunters Paradise Tuuti

It is situated along the Bungoma – Chwele Road. This premier facility opened its doors in 2023. It offers accommodation with 14 single rooms and 4 twin rooms. It also has a beautiful garden for events and anniversaries.

 

The hotel offers trips to Mt Elgon and receives both local and foreign tourists.

“Apart from locals coming for domestic tourism, we have international guests who are coming all the way because of this wonderful facility,” said Jennifer Kathiia who serves as the manager.

The hotel was opened in 2023.

Wanangali Sports Lounge

It is situated just a few metres from Hunters Paradise Tuuti and is the only facility with an amphitheatre in the Western Region.

They offer membership subscription that comes with benefits such as being given priority service, accessing wellness centre at no extra cost and discount on food and beverage.

Wanangali has a swimming pool, gym and offer indoor games. They also have a bar, restaurant, sauna and steam bath.
