- TCM Roofing Mabati Suppliers has said the Chinese national was not an investor but an employee.
- Despite reconciliation, the company says the employee has been terminated immediately and the process to have him deported to China is underway.
Following public uproar over a clip in which an infuriated Chinese national is seen assaulting and slamming a metallic ridge on the leg of a Kenyan, an Eldoret company has set records straight.
According to TCM Roofing Mabati Suppliers, the two were embroiled in a disagreement which escalated into the Chinese assaulting his colleague.
While condemning the incident, TCM said every employee deserves to be treated with respect and safety regardless of nationality and background. They also clarified that the foreigner was not an investor but rather a junior employee.
“It is important to clarify that the person involved is just a worker and not the investor. We deeply regret the incident and assure our customers, partners and the public that immediate disciplinary action has been taken.”
Deportation
The company now says they have terminated the contract of the employee and his deportation will be done ‘as soon as possible.’
“His employment contract has been terminated immediately, and arrangements are already in progress to have him returned to China as soon as possible, despite the reconciliation that happened after the incident,” TCM says.

Kenyan forgives Chinese man who assaulted him
The Kenyan who was assaulted had forgiven the Chinese man. What remains a mystery however is why he referred to him as his ‘boss’ yet the company insists both were ‘just employees.’
In a clip doing rounds on social media, the Kenyan said the following:-
“Nimemsamehea sina shida. Mimi bado nataka kufanya kazi hapa because hii ndio ilinitoa Busia.”
“Next time kama kuna shida, nitokee kwa ofisi ili kama kuna shida nitakubali makosa yangu. Lakini kwa yote nimemsamehea, sitasikiza mambo ya watu. Hiyo imeisha hivyo. He’s my boss and he’ll remain my boss.”
