Tony Mwirigi is a vibrant Kenyan media personality known for co-hosting the Milele FM afternoon show Milele Afternoon, alongside Santos Odinaree. The show airs weekdays from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
In a recent interview on Young Millionaire talks, Mwirigi revealed that he did not receive the high school grade he had hoped for. He scored a C-, which did not qualify him to study for a university degree.
He therefore decided to pursue a diploma in journalism and mass communication. Many people doubted his decision, but his mother continued to support him.
“I knew that even if the world failed to accept me, my mother would accept me, and her acceptance was enough,” he said.
Moving to Nairobi
On September 6, 2026, Mwirigi, who hails from Mpeketoni in Lamu, posted a reflection post in his Instagram page, celebrating nine years since he moved to Nairobi.
In the post, he stated that the nine years have brought him more experiences and blessings than he could have ever imagined when he relocated to the city.
He also stated that consistency and humility are some of the personal traits that have helped him along the way. “Sometimes, choosing silence and focusing on your purpose is the greatest strength,” he said.
Buying his first car
In 2025, Tony Mwirigi made headlines when he announced that he had bought his first car, a Mazda Atenza, at the age of 27.
In a video shared on his TikTok page, Mwirigi stated that he bought the car fully in cash, without any sponsorships or paid partnerships tied to the purchase.
The 2017 silver Atenza, which has a 2000 cc engine capacity, allegedly cost him over ksh 1 million.
“NB: I PAID OVER 1M IN CASH ON this SILVER ATENZA, 2017, 2000 cc. The logbook is under my name, and it is NTSA verified,” said Mwirigi.
He added that although the Atenza was his ride at the moment, his ultimate goal and ambition was to drive a Mercedes-Benz C-200, which he plans to buy in 2-3 years.
However, the Atenza has currently garnered him so much attention that he has become known as Tony Wa Atenza, with the media personality revealing future plans to partner with Mazda as their local brand ambassador.
Saving KSh 126,600 in a Piggy Bank
Mwirigi, whose one of his major accomplishments is being a TV host at K24, has also left social media abuzz after sharing a video of himself opening a piggy bank.
He revealed savings of about Sh126,600, a feat he achieved after saving every spare coin he had from July to December 2025.
“This was my first time trying home banking. I honestly didn’t expect it to reach this amount,” he stated, noting that this was his first time saving in a piggy bank.
According to Mwirigi, who has also worked as a presenter at Cape Media’s Radio 47, his savings culture was inspired by comedian and fellow radio personality Mulamwah, who has in the past spoken about the importance of financial responsibility.
Mwirigi, who also doubles as an events Mcee, bought the Mazda a few days after the piggy bank achievement.
