Aden Duale Treated to Colourful Farewell Party by Military

Cabinet Secretary for Defence Soipan Tuya on Friday, August 30, hosted former CS Defence and now Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Forestry and Climate Change, Aden Duale.

Also hosted were recently retired and promoted Officers in a colourful military ‘dining in-dining out’ ceremony at the Defence Headquarters in Nairobi.

Tuya acknowledged the efforts of the retired Generals and Senior Officers in their dedication to serve in the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).

She also appreciated Duale’s leadership skills that enabled the enhancement of Kenya Defence Force’s posture during his tenure in office.

“Today we celebrate Hon. Duaho has left an indelible footprint as a great champion of the expansion and modernisation efforts of the Ministry and has remained steadfast in ensuring that our gallant men and women in the military aWELL-EQUIPPEDped and are enabled to effectively discharge their constitutional mandate of defending and protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Kenya,” the CS said.

The CS wished the gallant retired General and Senior Officers well, as they embark on new roles, encouraging them to continue building the nation using their skills and expertise acquired during service.

Duale thanked KDF and Ministry of Defence leadership for the support accorded to him during his tenure.

He acknowledged milestones undertaken in the modernization of the Kenya Defence Forces welfare services including healthcare and affordable housing.

The Chief of the Defence Forces, General Charles Kahariri, welcomed Tuya into the KDF and Ministry of Defence fraternity and assured her of his continuous support as she steers the Ministry ahead.

Duale appreciated

Gen Kahariri appreciated Duale’s guidance and leadership in maintaining cohesion in the KDF fraternity and wished him the best as he transits to serve in a different Ministry.

The CDF appreciated the retired General and Senior Officers for their exemplary and dedicated service throughout their illustrious military careers.

He wished them well as they continued to serve the nation in their different capacities.

The dine-in, dine-out ceremony is an essential occasion to bid farewell to the outgoing officers as well as welcome the newly promoted and appointed officers to various military messes.

Among the officers who were dined out and issued with gifts and mementoes were former Vice Chief of the Defence Forces (VCDF) Lieutenant General Jonah Mwangi and former Army Commander Lieutenant General Peter Njiru.

Former Director General Nairobi Metropolitan Services, Lieutenant General Mohamed Badi and former Managing Director Kenya Ordinance Factory, Major General Martin On’goyi.

Other retired senior offices included Brigadier Njoroge Gitogo, Brigadier Gilbert Oduor, Brigadier Maurice Mwangi, Brigadier Maroa Gati, Brigadier Ibrahim Omari, Brigadier Jeremiah Maroko and Brigadier David Frank Ogutu.
