This is one of the oldest and best performing secondary schools in Kenya. The consistency of Alliance High School (AHS) or “Bush”, as it simply known, can be narrowed to down to good leadership, a strong tradition and an alumni that consists of who is who in Kenya.
The current chief principal of AHS is William Mwangi who took over from Mr. David Kariuki in April 2017 after the latter was accused of not doing enough to stop bullying in the premier institution.
Impact of William mwangi
His impact was almost immediately felt when the institution produced 36 A plains out of the 398 candidates who sat for the examinations in 2018. Out of those 36 As, 16 made it to the top 100 list nationally.
In 2020, AHS continued its impressive run, emerging in the top three nationally. The institution registered 77 As out of the 395 candidates who sat the examination. This was the highest number of As scored by an individual institution in that year’s KCSE exams.
Prior to his appointment by the Teacher Service Commission to AHS, Mr Mwangi was the principal of Lenana School.
