Nigerian man Babajide Israel Adebanjo set a new Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest duration of twerking.

Babajide broke the record when he twerked for three hours and 30 seconds in Lagos, Nigeria.

According to GWR, this record attempt was personal to Babajide as it was a way for him to get out of his comfort zone and raise awareness for anyone suffering from depression all around the world.

“His message is that no record is too crazy, too big, too great or too little to achieve. There is always space for everyone and their unique attributes.” GWR wrote.

The previous record holder for the longest twerking is Elena Sofie Sterlini, an Austrian who twerked for two hours and one minute on 3 January 2023.

Whenever Kenya has been associated with the World Guinness Records, athletics is often what comes to mind.

This time around, the country is set to make an entry into the history books for a rather peculiar feat.

John Waweru, a resident of Mombasa has gained the attention of the Guinness Book of Records after he claimed to have the longest nails in the world.

According to a report, the ‘talons’ measure 1.4 feet and the World Guinness Records wants him to enter a global competition.

Waweru first appeared in the media in 2013 after he attended the Mombasa County Agricultural Show where he showcased his nails.

He had also visited coastal beaches, schools and estates, showcasing the nails at a reasonable fee.
