Donald Trump is back in the White House, clinching the presidency of the United States for the second time in a stunning comeback. His win has reshaped the political landscape sparking controversy and admiration in equal measure. At the heart of Trump’s victory is Barron Trump, his 18-year-old son, who has captured public attention with his quiet presence, tall stature and growing influence.
Barron was born in 2006 and is the only child of Melania and Donald Trump. He is the fifth born child and his siblings are Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, Eric Trump and Tiffany Trump.
Barron spent much of his childhood at the Trump Tower penthouse in Manhattan, and attended the Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. He later transferred to the St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, Maryland, an unlikely choice as other presidential kids usually attended Sidwell Friends. He then enrolled in the Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Florida where he graduated in May 2024. He earned a spot at the New York University’s Stern School of Business in September last year.
Barron broke a family tradition by enrolling at New York University as Donald Trump and his children have attended the prestigious universities in Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C., respectively.
“He’s a very high aptitude child, but he’s no longer a child. He’s just passed into something beyond child-dom. He’s doing great,” Donald Trump had told the media when Barron joined NYU.
Towering at 2.06m tall (six foot seven), Barron is an avid soccer player and also loves golf and basketball.
It was reported that Barron played a critical role in the presidential campaign and this was confirmed by his parents and campaign officials who credited him for recommending podcasts popular with young people.
Barron introduced President Trump to popular podcaster Joe Rogan, comedians Theo Von, Andrew Schulz and scientist Lex Fridman. The Joe Rogan episode received 20 million views in 20 hours further cementing Trump’s popularity with the electorate.
“He was very good,” the president praised his son. “It’s the new wave. And he was very helpful.”
“I’m very proud of him, about his knowledge, even about politics and giving an advice to his father. He brought in so many young people. He knows his generation,” his mother also noted.
