Betty Bayo is a renowned Kenyan musician who often sings in her native tongue, Agikuyu. She is a gorgeous lady who has not let the ups and downs of life put her down. When one door closes for her she goes on to find another. Brought to the limelight amidst one of the biggest religious scandals in the country, she managed to pave her way in the entertainment industry and disengaged herself from the scandalous past.
Background
Born in Banana, Kiambu county, she was brought up in Olkalao before moving to Kiambu town. She is the last born in a family of eight children and comes from a very humble background.
Although details of where she schooled are not available to the public, she has previously said she dropped out of school while in form two. This was due to the financial constraints that plagued the family. The singer was then forced to work as a housemaid for two years. The family then was able to raise some money and sent her back to school.

Personal Life
The talented singer was once married to the infamous Pastor Victor Kanyari. The two got married in 2011 and were blessed with two children. When the lies behind Pastor Kanyari’s miracles were revealed she too was caught up in the scandal. The pastor had been accused of conning his followers by asking them to plant a seed of Ksh310. Later, an expose revealed the behind scenes con games by the pastor. When all the cards were laid in the table, it was obvious that people also questioned the wife. However, Betty distanced herself from those rumors declaring she was not a part of her ex-husband’s schemes.
Betty later revealed that ever since the separation she has received no form of support from the father of her two children.
“He has not sent even a cent for these children since the time we separated, but I leave him for God,” she once said.
A year later Betty revealed that she had met someone else and was in a relationship. She further revealed the person was very private, hence, the reason for not introducing him to her eager fans.
Bleaching
One of the scandals that has also plagued the singer is bleaching. According to reports, she bleached her skin in order to become lighter, a decision made in order to please a man.
