The most visible of President William Ruto children, Charlene Ruto, made money selling smokie kachumbari while she was a student at Daystar University.
The first daughter made the remarks at the institution where she was addressing the students.
She said her father pushed her to give her best in the small business she was doing.
“I used to have a business selling smokie Kachumbari while on campus at Daystar University, that was the profitable business then, my father encouraged me in that small business I was doing,” she recalled.
Charlene has been on a roll since her father ascended to the presidency. She has visited a number of counties preaching the hustler gospel.

As reported on WoK, Charlene Chelagat has a stake at Matiny Limited, a company that was initially owned by her father.
Together with her mother, she owns a house in Woodley Estate valued at Ksh20 million by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) in 2019.
The company also owns 170 apartments which had been leased to the National Police Service.
Matiny Ltd is a minority share at the four star Weston Hotel. Charlene Chelagat 10,013 shares in the hotel.
