Yachts are associated with the very rich and famous. Owning one for private use or business is an expensive affair if you are to add the subsequent upkeep costs. A negligible percentage of Kenyans own yachts leave along super yachts which run in million of dollars.

For example, Chelsea Football Club owner Roman Abramovich owns a 500 ft superyacht christened Eclipse worth £540million and the 460ft Solaris which set him back £430million. These kind of yachts come with helipads, swimming pools, Jacuzzis, outdoor beach club, lift, gym and sauna. They can hold 36 guests and upto 60 crew members.

The versions we have in Kenya are smaller and much cheaper to maintain.

So what is the cost of hiring one?

For one hour in the sea, the yacht will cost you USD350 (Kes35,000). Spending the night at the yacht will cost you USD200 (KES20,000).

Purchasing the yacht is between kes10 million to kes30 million.

What to find in this yacht

A bed, washroom, kitchen, sitting room and an upper lounge.
