Cost Of Building The Crystal Rivers Mall And Buying Price Of Apartments Owned By Safaricom Staff (SSPS)

The Crystal Rivers Mall that cost Ksh4.3 billion to construct is one of the most iconic buildings in Machakos County.

The mall owned by Safaricom Limited, through its Safaricom Staff Pension Scheme (SSPS), sits on 5.7 acres of land and has a total of 200,000 square feet of lettable floor space. 

The anchor tenant at the mall is Chandarana Foodplus, which also boasts eateries among other businesses.

Prior to this, SSPS had launched Crystal River, a Ksh3.4 billion real estate investment project that was officially launched on June 13th 2015 by the then Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua. 

The mixed use development has a total of 398 units sitting on 25.5 acres.

According to crystalvaluers, the three bedroom townhouses are sold out. The cost of the three bedroom apartment is Ksh6.5 million while the four bedroom town house goes for Ksh12 million.
