Comedian Eric Omondi has finally settled his debt with Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria.
In a viral video posted by Eric, the comedian is seen counting money and giving the politician.
Eric said the money was what Kuria gave him for his U.S. trip.
“Today I have officially refunded Mheshimiwa all THE money that he used to pay for my trip to the USA. Hio ingine nimemtumia na Paysii Malipo ni hapa Duniani,” the comedian added.
Eric and Kuria have had a tense relationship since the comedian started criticising the government.
In 2023, Kuria blasted Eric and expressed regret over his support for the comedian.
Kuria claimed he funded Omondi’s trip to the U.S. years back and expressed guilt for what he felt was a bad decision.
The CS said it would have been better if he spent the money on personal pleasure.
“Ni lazima tuwe watu ambao tunajilinganisha na dunia nzima. Nimeskia Eric akisema ni kijana. Miaka saba iliyopita nilichukua pesa yangu nikampeleka America ndio aone vile dunia iko. Saa hii vile anaongea, afadhali ningetumia hio pesa kwa sherehe,” Moses Kuria said.
Eric Omondi’s life was seemingly confined in Kisumu. After sitting for his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination.
The comedian was admitted to Kisumu Boys. High school shaped and honed his skills as a comedian.
His artistry was evident when he perfectly played the role of a woman, which he continues to do in his many skits on YouTube leaving his critic Cyprian Nyakundi questioning his sexuality.
Eric moved to Nairobi for the first time in 2003 to join Daystar University for a 3 year course in Electronic Media.
His ability to charm audiences saw him take up the role of an emcee-albeit self appointed. He graduated 7 years later after the university awarded him a full scholarship.
