The family of a Kenya Airways employee detained in DR Congo is appealing for her release.
Lydia Olando Maloba, a Kenya Airways Station Manager based in Kinshasa is being held at a military camp.
Maloba’s family has asked the government to assist them get freedom.
Lydia’s husband has been in Kinshasa for the last 13 days trying to secure her release.
“We are praying. We are trusting in God but we need the government to come through and help us find a solution for this,” her daughter is quoted by Citizen TV.
“We appeal to the government to listen to our appeal and take action that will secure the freedom of our daughter and her colleague,” her father pleaded.
“We don’t know what is happening. The issue is troubling us as a family. We wish that the matter is addressed and they be released.” the mother added.
On April 29, KQ announced the suspension of flights to Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo.
The suspension comes after the detention of KQ employees by the military intelligence Unit in Kinshasa.
