Fred Omondi: Churchill Show To Host Special Tribute Event For Late Comedian

Daniel Ndambuki well known as Churchill has announced a special tribute show for the late comedian Fred Omondi.

Ndambuki revealed that the Churchill Show event themed as ‘Fred Omondi Last Laugh All Stars’ will be held on Friday at Carnivore.

“This Friday from 6 pm at Carnivore. So many things happening, so soon. Sad,”

“But this Friday, let’s do it for Freddy one more time like never before. We shall all be there. See you then.” Churchill said.

The big comedy names to perform at the event will be Lang’ata MP Jalang’o, Terence Creative, Mammito, Teacher Wanjiku and Butita among many others.

Tickets for the show will go for KSh 1000.

The much loved comedian died on Saturday morning, June 15.

Police said the accident happened after a bodaboda carrying Omondi was involved in an accident.

The motorcycle was hit by a speeding bus forcing the rider and his pillion passenger to land on the tarmac.

Omondi was rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital where he was pronounced dead while being attended to, a police officer said.

“The incident occurred today, 15/6/24 at around 6:00 am near Caltex Petrol Station, Kangundo Road, involving Motor Vehicle Operated by Forward Sacco from Kayole directions heading towards the CBD and a motorcycle from the opposite side on wrong side (consolidated bank) collided head-on,” a police report read.

The boda boda rider suffered serious multiple injuries on both legs and fractures on both hands.

Fred Omondi was born in Siaya, Kisumu County, and was regarded as a brilliant stand-up comedian.
