HELB Opens Loan Application Portal for Exclusive Group of Students, How to Apply

The Higher Educations Loans Board has opened its portal for a limited time, offering a unique opportunity for Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examinations Board (KASNEB) Foundation loan and bursary applications.

Made on Monday, January 13, this announcement encourages students to take advantage of the opportunity and apply for loans to cover various fees, including registration, exams, renewals, exemptions, and tuition at KASNEB-accredited institutions.

“The KASNEB Foundation Loan and Bursary Scheme is now open, offering support for both your tuition and exam fees. With attractive interest rates and flexible repayment periods. See requirements and apply,” HELB said in the statement shared on X.

Current KASNEB students are eligible for the loans and bursaries, while new students who have recently received their 2024 KCSE results are also invited to apply.

HELB listed the qualifications currently funded including:

1. Certified Public Accountants (CPA)

2. Certified Secretaries (CS)

3. Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (CIFA)

4. Certified Credit Professionals (CCP)

5. Accounting Technicians Diploma (ATD)

6. Certificate in Accounting and Management Skills (CAMS)

HELB Terms and Conditions

1. The loan attracts an interest rate of 6% per annum and is due for repayment 3 years after the date of completion of studies.

2. The maximum repayment period is 60 months, with the option of choosing a lower repayment period.

3. Administrative fee of Ksh500 charged during disbursement.

KASNEB Loan Requirements

Interested candidates must meet the following requirements and adhere to the instructions outlined for a successful application:

1. Applicants should visit the HELB website www.helb.co.ke to access the HELB Students’ Portal to register, create and activate account (ensure you use your personal mobile number).

2. Log in, and click Loan ‘Application’ Tab, on the left dashboard.

3. From the view window, select either: KASNEB Foundation Loan and Bursary Application- Tuition fees only OR KASNEB Foundation Loan and Bursary Application – KASNEB fees only.

4.Read and agree on the Consent for the Collection and Processing of Personal Data.

5. Access and fill in the loan application form online.
