Alliance High School

Founded in 1902, Nairobi School is one of the oldest national schools in the country. The learning institution is located in a serene environment and has all the modern amenities from a gym to a swimming pool. The school is also known for its remarkable results in the national examinations and has a number of notable alumni.
Gitobu Imanyara and Ahmednasir Abdullah are some of the top lawyers who studied in the school.
Musingu High School
Back in the day, Musingu High School began as a Harambee School, with villagers contributing both monies and land. Located in Kakamega County, the school grew to become a force to reckon with and as of now has produced top politicians in the country including Boni Khalwale. Popular city lawyer Nelson Havi, Dr John Khaminwa, Dr Elisha Ongoya.
Ambira High School
Established in 1964, the school located in Ugenya, Siaya county has a long history of academic excellence. It has molded young learners who went on to excel in academics and co-curricular activities, especially music. The current police spokesman Charles Owino is an alumni of the school. Perhaps one of the most famous lawyers the school has produced is the eloquent PLO Lumumba who is the former director of Kenya Anti Corruption Commission.
Njiiri school
Located in Kigumo constituency, Murang’a, this is one of the top performing schools in the country. The school is one of the premier secondary schools in Kenya having admitted the first class of 25 students in 1958. Over the years, the school has largely been associated with high quality of education marked by good results in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations, high standards of discipline and active participation in co-curricular and extra curricular activities.
One of the most popular lawyers the school has produced is Miguna Miguna.
Kiburia Girls High School
This is a public girls boarding extra county high school located in Kirinyaga county. It is a school with a history of academic excellence and was honored by deputy president William Ruto in 2020 when he attended their prize giving ceremony. Popular lawyer/ human rights crusader cum politician Martha Karua is an alumni of the school.
Maranda High School
Located in Siaya county, the school has a history of academic excellence and was ranked among the top 10 performing schools in the country in three consecutive years, 4th in 2010, 1st in 2011 and 7th in 2012. The school has a rich history, both the late Jaramogi Oginga Odinga and his son Raila Odinga are the alumni of the school. It also produced veteran lawyer and senior counsel Paul Otiende Amollo.
Mang’u High School
One can not talk about top schools in the country without the mention of Mang’u High School. Not only does the school excel in academics but it also excels in extra curricular activities. This school’s alumni group comprises of some of the top leaders in the country. Former President of Kenya Mwai Kibaki and his first vice president Moody Awori. The school has also produced top lawyers including the now trending BBI Appeal Case lawyer Christian Andole.
Friends School Kamusinga
A competitive national school that many across the country wish to attend. Established in 1956, the school is located in a serene environment in Kimilili, Bungoma county. From sports, science Congress, to music and drama festivals, the school excels in almost everything.
Popular lawyer Cliff Ombeta was among the students of the school at some point. He was not the usual disciplined and focused learner and was suspended for indiscipline on a few occasions but he still managed to complete his education in the school.
Lugulu Girls High School
Lugulu is a top performing national school in Western, Kenya. Entry into the school requires very good grades. A number of high profile people were once boarders at the school including lawyer and former deputy chief justice Nancy Barasa.
Thika High School
The Boys Boarding school is known for its exemplary performance in both sports and at the national examinations. Popular lawyers who did their national exams in the school are Paul Muite and Irungu Kan’gata.
Kenya High School
This is another national school with a very rich alumni network. Esther Arunga, Esther Nyaiyaki, Judy Thongori (also a human rights activist) and Esher Ang’awa are among the school’s alumni currently working as lawyers.
Kathiani Boys Secondary School
This is the school attended by popular lawyer and politician Mutula Kilonzo Junior. The school is located in Machakos county.
