The Chairperson of the Presidential Council for Economic Advisors David Ndii is a man who is not afraid to speak his mind.
The highly rated economist has been a prominent figure in William Ruto regime. Questions have lingered on the kind of advise he gives the president as Kenyans complain of the ever increasing cost of living.
In this article, WoK takes a look at the education background of David Ndii.
The prolific economist studied at Nyahururu High School where he was a top student. In a post on his X account, Ndii stated that the school was “not where well to do people children go to school. We are self made people”.
Ndii said that he smoked bhang occasionally in secondary school (age 12-16), and still topped his class in O-Level exams.
After his ‘O’ levels, he joined Kangaru School in Embu County for his ‘A’ levels. He went on to join the University of Nairobi where he studied a Bachelor’s degree in Economics.
David Ndii undertook his master’s and doctorate degrees in economics at Oxford University.
He is a Rhodes Scholar and Eisenhower fellow. (Read David Ndii Biography here)
