Step 4: Your money will be returned to your M-PESA account within 72 hours if they accept the reversal. If the merchant refuses to accept the M-PESA reversal, Safaricom will finally call you to advise you to report the matter to the police.

With that said, it is important to note that reversing money transferred to the incorrect till number can be difficult, especially if the recipient refuses to cooperate.

To avoid back and forth arising from such incidents, it is critical to always verify the till number before completing transactions to avoid losing money by sending it to the incorrect till number.
