In this article, WoK will provide a step-by-step guide on how to reverse Safaricom airtime erroneously bought via M-PESA.

How to reverse Safaricom airtime erroneously bought via M-PESA

Follow the procedures below to reverse airtime erroneously bought via M-PESA.

Step 1: Once you buy airtime from M-PESA mistakenly, do not use the airtime that you just bought.

If you had an Okoa Jahazi that was deducted make sure the available airtime is worth the amount you used.

Say you bought Ksh 10,000 airtime, before the reversal, make sure your Airtime balance is Ksh 10,000.

Step 2: To reverse, forward the M-PESA message to 456 to have the airtime reversed back to M-PESA.

Alternatively, you can also reverse airtime mistakenly bought via M-PESA by calling Safaricom Customer Care.

Step 1: Dial Safaricom Customer Care number 100

Step 2: Select M-PESA transaction option

Step 3: Inform customer care agent of the erroneous purchase and request a reversal

Step 4: Wait for Safaricom to handle the reversal request.
