The Phantom X2 and Phantom X2 pro 5G are Tecno newest high end phones.The phantom series began not too long ago. The interesting bit about these Chinese brands is that they don’t shy away from experimenting. Tecno did not disappoint with their cutting edge design. The latest entrants in the market were launched on 7th December 2022 and are already in the Kenyan market.

What should we expect to find in the box? 

There is a 45 watt wall brick, a type C to type C, a phone case, wired earphones, quick start guide and the giant itself. Straight out of the box your eyes may pop out of their sockets because the homogenous cameras and an edge display.There are two colours which are moonlight silver and stardust grey for the phantom x2 5G and for the x2 pro 5G you get orange and stardust grey.

Security system

The security system is also something worth mentioning. It has an in display fingerprint scanner and all the other usuals and a face unlock feature but it is not recommendable.

Operating system

The OS is Android 12 and HiOS 12, the chipset is MediaTek Dimensity 9000 which is very powerful as well. The phone has is 12GB ram  256GB internal storage. Sadly your cant expand the storage. 

Camera

Let’s now talk about the cameras. It has triple cameras- a 50 MP wide, a 13 MP ultrawide and a 50MP telephoto. For the selfie it has a 32MP wide camera.

Charging

The 45W fast charging provides 54% in 20 minutes. The display is an Amoled 120Hz and it’s protected by corning gorilla glass victors on the front, an aluminium frame and a plastic back. The network is ranging from 3G to 5G.I t also has a 5160mAP battery which can last you a whole day. It retails in Kenya at Ksh 69,999. 

Is it worth buying?

Definitely. But you can also check other alternatives like the Google Pixel 6A which are in the same price range.
