Jemimah Thiong’o: Gospel Legend Pleads For Help to Clear Late Husband’s KSh 3 Million Bill

Gospel legend Jemimah Thiong’o is pleading for support after the death of her husband Francis Thiong’o.

Francis has been ailing for months after having complications from surgery.

He died on Sunday, July 21 and his treatment left a huge bill for the family to clear.

Jemimah is requesting Kenyans to support them to offset the KSh 3 million accumulated hospital bill.

“Beloved it is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing on of my beloved husband Mr. Francis Thiong’o on Sunday the 21st of July. We are humbly requesting your support to help us offset the accumulated medical bill of 3 Million. Your support will be much appreciated.” Thiong’o said.

On Sunday, August 4, several gospel musicians including Kambua, Mbuvi, Rueben Kigame, and Esther Wahome among others are set to perform at the Love Concert in support of Thiong’o.

Proceeds from the concert will go into clearing the hospital bill.

Winning the Groove Awards as a songwriter of the year, indeed Jemimah was a blessing to many.

Some of her greatest hit songs are “Akisema Atakubariki”, Pen do la Ajabu” and “Alinitua”.

She emerged in the gospel industry in the early 2000s Jemimah and went on to make a name for herself as one of the pioneer artists of the industry.

Among the younger generation of artists, she has gained the fond title of ‘mum’. She’s easily one of the most respected Gospel acts this side of the Sahara and boasts a major cross-over appeal.
