Kenya Army soldiers based at Idido in Marsabit County conducted Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) activities and Community Engagement at Forolle.
The event aims to spread the message of peace between the local communities as well enhancing Civil-Miltary Cooperation.
The six-day Peace Tournament included a Football Tournament and water distribution to the local community and Forole school.
The event brought together a total of six teams from KDF Idido and the neighbouring villages of Elle Bor, Forolle and Eli-Adi.
Additionally, Qaliti Queens and Sabar FC, the young girls of Forolle and Elle Bor, respectively,y, will also take part in the tournament.
The Officer Commanding Idido military camp, Major David Obwiri and other organizers of the event addressed the locals during the opening ceremony.
They urged the locals, especially the youth, to preach peace to ensure all communities coexist peacefully.
Maj Obwiri also held a meeting with the area youth led by Mr Elema, the area chief, Hassan Diba, who is an area member of the youth peace committee, among other leaders within the area.
The event was attended by more than 200 people from the local community.
Meanwhile, Major General Fatuma Ahmed, Commander of Kenya Air Force (KAF), presided over the graduation ceremony of the Tufuzu Youth Development Entrepreneurship Program at Moi Air Base (MAB).
This is the second cohort, sponsored by the Military Wives Association of Kenya (MWAK) and the Family Bank Foundation.
The ceremony attracted 48 students from various Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) families with an interest in acquiring plumbing and electrical skills.
