Kenya Army Holds Ceremony For Officers Promoted by President William Ruto

Days after the announcement of the  Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) promotions by President Ruto.

The Kenya Army held a ceremony where the newly promoted senior officers were investitured with their badges of rank on Thursday, July 25 at the Army Headquarters.

Commander Kenya Army Lieutenant General David Tarus presided over the ceremony.

Tarus was accompanied by the Deputy Army Commander and other General Officers.

According to KDF, it was a moment of joy and excitement for the newly promoted senior Officers as they moved a step forward in their military careers to their new ranks and appointments.

Lt Gen Tarus hailed the officers for their growth through the ranks noting that they were equal to the tasks ahead of them.

Recognising their dedication, sacrifice and commitment, he commended the officers for the exemplary service they have rendered to the nation.

Tarus urged the senior officers to lead with integrity and set an example to their juniors.

He told them to uphold the Army values of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honour and personal courage.

The Commander emphasised the critical role the newly promoted officers will play in addressing the prevailing challenges of insecurity.

“As you ascend to higher ranks, the service places an even greater trust in your capabilities. I urge each of you to redouble your efforts and collaborate across services to tackle the security challenges facing our country. I know and believe that your dedication and focus will be instrumental in achieving mission readiness of the Kenya Army”, said Lt Gen Tarus.

Deputy Army Commander Maj Gen Mohammed Hassan also congratulated the newly promoted officers.

He urged them to uphold professionalism and integrity as they discharge their duties.

“You’re role models in the service. Your new ranks entail more responsibilities and engagements. Endeavour to be professional and serve those under your command diligently.” Maj Gen Hassan said.
