Comedian and YouTuber Oga Obinna has revealed he tried to help former TV host Kimani Mbugua.

Obinna said Kenyans need to unite and help Mbugua in his time of struggle.

The comedian confessed he tried to reach out to Mbugua and even sent him fare but he never showed up.

Obinna promised to look for the talented TV host and personally take him to the hospital for treatment and rehabilitation.

“I reached out to him a while ago. He didn’t show up, alikula fare but that is water under the bridge,”

“Commenting I wonder, I wonder, is not helping him. I need someone who knows where he is. Let’s find him, find a hospital and drive him there. He will thank us later. When a brother is naked, we cover his nakedness,” Obinna said.

Kimani Mbugua has for the last year been in the headlines for his worrying state.

Kenyans have been concerned with a series of videos of Kimani showing extreme behaviour.

In one video, Mbugua is seen shouting profanities and smashing his household stuff.

In another video, Mbugua claims he spoke to Elon Musk whom he blames for his financial situation.

Mbugua made a name for himself during his time at Citizen TV, where he captivated Kenyans with his eloquence and riveting reports.

He has also worked with NTV. Mbugua revealed his mental health battles adding he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

In a September 2023 video, Mbugua admitted Bipolar Disorder has derailed his life and career.

“Feels so bad to call myself a former TV journalist. I am in a problem, but I don’t want to also look as if I am begging,”

“I fell ill in 2020 after I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder, and since then, my life has fallen apart. I have lost so many things, friends during the journey, and people got tired of me, and they got to a point where they were not willing to help,” he added.
