Here are some of the most remarkable Guinness world records achieved by the player:

1. Fastest Time To Reach 10 million subscribers on YouTube

The football superstar set a new YouTube record by reaching 10 million subscribers in record time. After launching his channel, UR Cristiano,  on Wednesday, August 21, he surpassed the 10 million subscriber mark in less than a day. Prior to this, he also set the record for the fastest time to reach one million subscribers, achieving it in just 90 minutes, earning him a golden plaque from the video-sharing platform.

Ronaldo’s achievement broke the previous record set by Hamster Kombat, which took seven days to reach 10 million subscribers. The rapid growth of Ronaldo’s channel underscores his immense global appeal and the excitement surrounding his latest venture.

2. Most followers for an athlete on X

Ronaldo (@Cristiano) is the most popular athlete on X with 112.5 million followers. His nearest competitor, LeBron James (@KingJames), trails significantly with 53 million followers, roughly 59.5 million fewer than Ronaldo.

3. Most followers on Instagram for an athlete

The player’s exceptional athletic ability and charismatic personality have made him a beloved global figure, reflected in his immense social media following. He holds the title of the most-followed athlete on Instagram, boasting 636 million followers, and is the overall most-followed person on the platform. In second place is fellow soccer star Lionel Messi, who has 504 million followers.

4.  Most viewed Wikipedia page for an athlete (male)

Football fans globally frequently turn to Wikipedia to learn more about their favorite teams and players. Due to the former Manchester United player’s widespread appeal, he ranks among the most searched athletes, with fans eager to explore his background and career. According to Guinness World Records, his Wikipedia page is the most viewed for a male athlete worldwide, having received over 112 million visits.

5. Highest-rated player in FIFA 18

According to Guinness, Ronaldo was the highest-rated player in FIFA 18 with an overall rating of 99%, surpassing his closest rivals, Lionel Messi and Pelé, who both received a 98% rating. This accolade was due to EA Sports introducing a new FIFA 18 Team of the Year, which featured an Ultimate Team card that enhanced players’ stats.

Beyond his online achievements, he has set numerous records on the soccer pitch, including:

6. Top International goalscorer of all-time

The Portuguese player has scored 130 goals in 212 matches and counting, holding the record for the most goals in international men’s football. Since debuting for the Portuguese national team in 2003, Cristiano Ronaldo has consistently found the back of the net and boasts 10 hat-tricks, also the most in international football.

7. Most Champions League goals

With 140 goals in 183 Champions League matches, Ronaldo holds the best record of any player in football history. His Champions League tally includes 21 goals for Manchester United, 105 for Real Madrid, and 14 for Juventus.

8. The oldest player to score a World Cup hat-trick (33 years and 130 days)

Age is extremely crucial in soccer. The physical demands of the sport, including speed, agility, and endurance, mean that younger players often have a significant advantage. As players age, their physical capabilities tend to decline, making it more challenging to keep up with the intense pace of the game.

This however did not deter Ronaldo from scoring a hat-trick in the 2018 World Cup match against Spain that ended in a 3-3 draw. At 33 years and 130 days, he also became the oldest treble World Cup scorer in the Guinness World Record books.

9. Most goals scored in the UEFA European Championships

In addition to winning the Euro 2020 Golden Boot with five goals, Ronaldo surpassed Michel Platini to become the all-time leading scorer in the European Championship, with a total of 14 goals in the tournament.

10. Top scorers across ALL UEFA club competitions

The former Juventus player holds the record as the top scorer in the Champions League with 134 goals. This is the highest total any player has ever achieved across all UEFA European club competitions, including the Champions League, UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup, Europa League, UEFA Intertoto Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and Intercontinental Cup.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s relentless pursuit of excellence and his ability to break records both on and off the field underscore his status as an unparalleled icon in the world of sports. His extraordinary achievements—from social media milestones to historic feats on the pitch—highlight his unparalleled impact and lasting legacy in football.
