Shiksha Arora on Tuesday, July 23 announced that she was joining Cape Media’s television station TV47 after exiting KBC where she had worked for three years.
Her new move has been well received by her fans who were eagerly waiting to hear of her new plans, especially owing to her energetic and approachable style that has endeared her to viewers creating a legion of loyal of followers.
In an advert released online by TV47, Shiksha was introduced as the ‘new girl in town’, further solidying the station’s position as Kenya’s most rapidly growing television network.
TV47 has been on the hunt for top talent from different media houses, as well as bringing big names who were on hiatus back to the industry.
In May this year, media personality and TV anchor Betty Kyallo returned to the screen after a four-year break as the station’s Friday night news presenter.
“After close to four years. I’m back. TV47 is now my home. I can’t wait to see you my lovely audience. This is my favourite stage! Yaaaay! See you soon…,” she announced on her social media platforms.
Betty’s return also brought back her former cohost Willis ‘The Word Master’ Ochieng’ , and the duo brought back their famous English language segment where Ochieng takes the audience through a pronunciation lesson of English words.
“Friends, I have said yes to the station that has become the latest talk of our great country’s TV/Radio broadcasts . . . that reddish screen. During 9 pm English News: catch the pronunciation segment “WHICH IS WHICH?” the excited language enthusiast shared in late May.
Betty’s comeback to TV was after a successful stint in business and on her reality show ‘ Kyallo Kulture’. She was assigned the ‘This Friday With Betty’ show to take over from Willis Raburu who left the station to take on an administrative role at Cape Media. The now Director of Digital Services was hosting the Wabebe Experience Show since August 2023 before exiting to fully take on his director role in April 2024.
Another bigshot who joined Cape Media’s TV47 and Radio 47 is radio and media personality Shatta Bwoy, real name Steve Jacob Maunda, who left Royal Media Services’ Radio Citizen in March 2023.
He is now Director of Projects and Strategy at Cape Media, doubling up as a TV and Radio host as well as overseeing projects and strategy for Cape Media’s betting product Maybets.
Renowned investigative journalist Franklin Wallah also joined TV47 this year from Media Max-owned K24.
The crime reporter had maintained his silence over his next moves after exiting K24 in April but eventually shared that he was part of the TV47 news team in May.
