Radio Presenter Mike Nyagwoka has penned an emotional farewell after being laid off at Radio Maisha.
Nyagwoka expressed pain and disappointment at the exit from the Standard Media Group-owned station.
Nyagwoka revealed that he was informed of his redundancy on July 31.
He shared that there was no indication he would lose his job in the coming days but remained hopeful he would get another opportunity.
“When I left for home after work on the 31st of July 2024, there was no indication whatsoever that I had just done my last tour of duty in this place. If it was my choice, I would have held on a little longer, but the dice had been cast and decisions made, and all I had to do was to abide,”
“Radio Maisha was a beautiful journey where I demonstrated that one can overcome adversity and stay on course to his dream. I am proud of the brand I built and the work I did. My mission was to leave a legacy and I believe I did,’
“We live in an age that presents many opportunities and I hope that I will get the right motivation to utilize them to keep myself afloat. I equally pray that other doors will open soon. I WILL MISS YOU.” Nyagwoka said.
Popular radio presenter Esther Mwende Macharia has left Radio Maisha and its parent company Standard Media Group.
Mwende announced her departure on her social media handles on Saturday, 17.
She thanked Standard Group and the management for the opportunity to grow her career and brand in the last 14 years.
