Mike Sonko Pays Rent, Shopping For Dem wa Facebook

Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has paid rent for content creator Dem wa Facebook.

Sonko, during a live interview with Oga Obinna, said he has watched Dem’s videos and was impressed by her big following on social media.

The politician during the show asked Dem wa Facebook how much rent she was paying.

The comedienne who lives in Kayole said she pays KSh 10,000 as rent.

Sonko immediately went to his pocket handed her the money and added extra for her shopping.

Sonko said the money was for her one month’s rent.

“Naweza mlipia rent ya hii mwezi na shopping kidogo,” Sonko said.

A grateful Dem thanked the former governor for his kindness.

Dem Wa Facebook gained fame for her amazing stage presence and ability to engage audiences.

She has built up a large following on social media platforms with her hilarious tales and videos that portray her as a kienyeji (local).

The comedienne has also performed at the Churchill Show.

”Once nilingia churchill show nilipatana na akina mulamwah wakanifunza even Captain Otoyo akanifunza kupiga show venye stage inakaa, venye unaeza panda stage na uue so nikalearn,” she revealed in a previous interview.

Sonko who has a solid support base, is also highly regarded for his philanthropy.

He has adopted children and gone to great miles to support the vulnerable in the community.

The politician has been involved in several ventures which include the matatu business.

Speaking in a past interview with NTV, the then-Nairobi governor explained how he made millions from the business.

Sonko said he would make up to Ksh 400,000 per day from his 10 matatus that plied the Buru Buru route.

“I used to have matatus, I’m the one who started installing big screens in matatus. I was making up to Ksh 20,000 a shift. One matatu would give me Ksh 40,000 a day and I had 10 matatus,” Sonko said.
