Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Performance, and Delivery Management Moses Kuria has confronted Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on his remarks about the National Intelligence Service (NIS).
The CS launched a scathing attack on the Deputy President on his X handle on Thursday, June 27.
Kuria said Gachagua was the Chair of the Intergovernmental Budget and Economic Council (IBEC) which decides on money sharing with Counties but keeps talking about One Man One Vote One Shilling in funerals.
The CS also revealed that Gachagua is the coordinator of the Constitutional Commission and Independent Offices among them the Commission for Revenue Allocation.
During his national address in Mombasa, the Deputy President had asked President William Ruto to stop the demolition of houses near the Nairobi River.
He stated that the plot owners had genuine title deeds and giving them KSh 10k as compensation was unacceptable.
Kuria criticised the remarks by saying Gachagua influenced the situation as he was in a government committee.
He also hit out at the DP for blaming Noordin Haji for the deaths during the Occupy Parliament protests.
Gachagua had claimed that Haji’s interference at NIS had caused the President not to get accurate information about the country.
“He is the Chair of the Nairobi Rivers Commission yet complains about demolitions done by his office,”
‘He is in the National Security Council yet complains about the Director of the National Intelligence Service. It was enough to have a President who was a teetotaller. Apo Chini tungechanganya kubalance.” Kuria added.
