Education is key for every child. Parents and guardians in Kenya strive to ensure their children get quality education regardless of the costs.
In Kenya, some parents don’t mind taking their children to expensive private schools with ‘shocking’ fee structures.
Such schools include:
International School of Kenya (ISK)
This private and non-profit making school is a joint partnership between the United States of America (USA) Government and the Canadian Government founded in 1976.
The institution whisch has over 940 students from more than 65 countries is the most expensive school in Kenya, with their year 12 – 13 students paying a tuition fee of Ksh 3,139,191 per academic year.
International School of Kenya’s academic school year runs from early August through early June. The first semester ends mid December while the second semester starts early January.
The school teaches using North American curriculum and is divided into three sub-schools; elementary, middle and high school. The elementary school serves pre-kindergarten through grade 5 for children of ages 4 – 10.

Bus fee – Ksh190,000
Tuition per year from kindergarten to grade 12 ranges from Ksh1,500,000 to Ksh2,900,000
Greensteds International School
It is believed to be the second most expensive private school in Kenya.
Located along the busy Nairobi – Nakuru Highway, the Greensteds International School is a day and boarding learning institution. Day scholars pay different amount of money as school fees from boarding students as indicated below.
