From a little-known street comedian to an ordained pastor, on Friday, June 21 Muthee Kiengei’s spiritual journey became complete as a Bishop.
Kiengei was consecrated at his Jesus Compassion Ministries (JCM) Church based in Ruiru, Kiambu County.
The new Bishop was driven to church in an escort of high-end cars and a marching band.
In church, his children carried banners celebrating him and as his wife stood next to him as he received blessings as a bishop.
The flashy ceremony was attended by church faithful, politicians and Kikuyu celebrities including Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
The DP said JCM was a church founded in the word of God and is a source of hope and inspiration.
“A Church founded well in the Word of God is a source of hope and inspiration,”
“It is exciting to join the faithful of the Jesus Compassion Ministry (JCM) for the Consecration of Rev. Benson Kamau Kiengei as the Bishop of the Church in Ruiru, Kiambu County.” Gachagua added.
The Consecration Service was presided over by Archbishop Harrison Ng’ang’a.
Earlier, his ex-wife congratulated him on his consecration as Bishop.
Keziah Kariuki in a heartwarming post, shared on social media, praised her ex-husband.
She described him as a good good-hearted man who qualifies as a bishop.
She also shared photos including with their daughter and wished him the best in his next level.
Benson Gathungu Kamau, popularly known as Muthee Kiengei, is a Kenyan comedian, morning show presenter and an ordained pastor.
He is a bubbly fellow who makes witty jokes during his show. Many know him for his strikingly elegant looks and witty tongue.
His decision to become a man of God came as a shock to many but he maintained that he was ready to serve the Lord and that it wasn’t a joke.
