Laikipia East MP Mwangi Kiunjuri is blaming the Mt Kenya region for Raila allies’ entry into President William Ruto’s cabinet nomination list.

Kiunjuri on Inooro TV said Ruto was innocent when it came to bringing in Raila’s allies.

“It is not Ruto who looked for Raila. It is us Mt Kenya who have looked for Raila. You CAN be at a table with your plate and start asking for those held by others for your selfish gain. We should not blame President Ruto. When you get into a hole, you stop digging,” Kiunjuri said.

Kiunjuri added that the Gen Z protests were hijacked by people planning to overthrow the government.

He pointed out that leaders from Mt Kenya sponsored over 20,000 protesters to cause chaos including opposition figures.

“The day parliament was attacked, four politicians from our region brought 20,000 protesters. The office that offered the funding is known by the government. A pig fries itself with its fat. They were our people and some have already recorded statements,”

“Two leaders from the opposition also brought 10,000 suspected goons to protest.” He said.

Meanwhile, Kiunjuri offered consolation to former CS Moses Kuria.

Kuria missed out on two lists of nominations for Cabinet Secretary slots named by President William Ruto.

In a post on X, Kuria revealed that Kiunjuri was returning a favour having taken him for lunch when was fired back in 2020 as Agriculture CS.

Kuria thanked the politician for the lunch treat.
