Kenya is in the English Premier League again after a football scout joined Aston Villa as First Team Recruitment Analyst.
Naythan Din-Kariuki has been appointed as the new First Team Recruitment Analyst at Aston Villa.
Naythan is well-experienced in football scouting having had a successful stint at Oxford United in the third-tier League One.
His appointment is expected to boost the premier league club’s recruitment department, as he brings a wealth of skills in data analysis, administration, and technical scouting.
In his LinkedIn profile, Naythan says he has a deep understanding of the English Football League (EFL) and African football.
He holds postgraduate degrees in Sports Business and Leadership from Loughborough University and Performance Analysis from Middlesex University.
Naythan is the son of Gina Din, a Kenyan businesswoman and PR guru.
Her company has been involved in major public relations events from the launch of Safaricom to Barack Obama’s visit to Kenya in 2018.
Her parents owned the famous Sportsman’s Arms Hotel in Nanyuki.
Naythan’s father is Retired Captain Chris Kariuki.
Kariuki worked for the Kenya Air Force and had returned from work in the United States and since the air force base was under construction, he was stationed at the Sportsman’s Arms Hotel in Nanyuki.
At that time it was owned by Gina Din’s father.
It’s here at Sportsman’s Arms that he met his future wife Gina Din.
