Olive Burrows is set to officially be introduced to the Citizen Weekend anchoring team on Saturday, June 1, 2024.

Burrows will be anchoring the news on Saturdays and Sundays and co-hosting the popular Sunday Live show with veteran  Jeff Koinange.

In an interview with Citizen Digital, Burrows said she was honoured to join the team and was looking forward to growth.

“I am incredibly honoured to have joined the team. They have received me with open arms. And as iron sharpens iron, I look forward to a season of growth,”

“As a journalist, I’m keen to promote good governance and accountability with my news reports and on Citizen Weekend you can expect to get the Kenyan perspective on global events. And if there’s anything the Covid pandemic taught us, it’s that we are never far removed from places we once thought were far removed from our part of the world,” she added.

Olive Burrows will join Citizen TV to replace Victoria Rubadiri who moved to CNN.

Burrows previously worked at Capital FM before making the move to NTV in 2018.

She has hosted the breakfast show AM Live and prime-time news bulletins at NTV.

Burrows at Capital FM made history by becoming the only Kenyan journalist to interview former U.S. President Barack Obama during his visit to Kenya in 2015.

On Wednesday, May 8 Burrows bid farewell to NTV.

In her last news bulletin at the Nation Media Group-owned TV station.

An emotional Burrows thanked NTV for allowing her to work for them.
