Stella Soi Lang’at spoke days after the National Assembly Committee on Appointments rejected her as Cabinet Secretary for Gender.
Soi said in a post on social media she will never give up on her dreams.
She encouraged supporters that this was not the end but the beginning.
“Never Give Up. Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick is too not to get bogged down by it. We can get out of the deepest wells by not stopping. And by never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.” Soi said.
The Committee said the nominee did not demonstrate knowledge of topical, administrative, and technical issues touching on the portfolio to which she had been nominated.
In the report, members of the Committee chaired by Speaker Moses Wetangula argued that Soi failed to demonstrate adequate knowledge of topical, administrative and technical issues touching on the Ministry of Gender, Culture, The Arts and Heritage to which she had been nominated to lead.
“The nominee is unsuitable for the position to which she was nominated as she was unable to respond adequately to queries raised during the approval hearing relating to Gender, Heritage and Culture,” the MPs said in the report
Meanwhile, former news anchor Doreen Majala is pleading with President William Ruto to nominate her as Cabinet Secretary.
The anchor said she is suited for the position of Gender, Culture, The Arts & Heritage.
